Marbella rated Europe’s 2nd best lifestyle destination

The top spot went to Ljubljana in Slovenia, a very different yet also very beautiful spot in Europe, meaning that Marbella took second spot on the list of Europe’s finest beachside resort towns, according to the European Commission’s European Best Destinations. However, it took top place in the Most Exclusive and Prestigious city category.

Beating the likes of Monaco, the French Riviera, Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, Mallorca and Ibiza is no mean feat, and gives Marbella plenty of reason to feel proud, but the official European Best Destination 2022 confirms what we’ve been seeing for some time now, namely that this part of the world is continuing to gather stature on a global level.

It is the culmination of a process that began many years ago, and the result of a transformation that has seen Marbella become a year round resort with so much to offer – adding a very high level of luxury services, fine dining, luxury shopping and first-class medical and educational facilities to the sunniest climate in Europe and beautiful natural surroundings on the shores of the Western Mediterranean.

Discerning international visitors and homeowners have been drawn to Marbella since the 1950s, but the appeal continues unabated and seems to grow with each new generation, as Marbella evolves and matures, adding new amenities, improved infrastructure and of course beautiful new homes in a wide range of sizes and styles, as well as mountain, golf and beachside settings.

A true lifestyle destination

The climate, outdoor lifestyle, diet, pace of life and sports and leisure facilities combine to make Marbella not only a luxury resort destination but also a place so diverse in its offering that it sets the pace for quality of life and well-being. Added to the spa hotels and luxury facilities of Marbella are the nature and culture that surrounds it, making this one of those safe, privileged spots on the map where the world really is your oyster.
