Since the first apartment complexes were built in Marbella, penthouses have occupied the best positions right on the top of the buildings. Not overlooked, with fantastic views, large terraces and no noise interruption from above, Marbella penthouses have always commanded a higher price, but deservedly so. Lately, more and more potential property buyers are also weighing up the advantages of penthouse living against the cons of owning detached villas.

Security is an important consideration. The ability to lock up and leave a penthouse is of huge benefit to today’s constant travellers, journeying between homes and work. Whereas a villa may still require a weekly visit from the gardener, pool maintenance company and cleaner, once you’ve locked the front door of your penthouse, you can forget about it until your next visit.

Community living has its benefits too. Villas require a lot of regular maintenance, including exterior painting and repairs. The community of owners in an apartment complex will take care of all this, leaving you to make the most of your time in Spain and enjoy living in your property!

Location is often preferable too, as many of the best apartment complexes are located within walking distance of Marbella town centre, the beach or a golf course.
